Foster Moreau, tight end for the Las Vegas Raiders, announced that he has been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. The 25-year-old said that he will be stepping away from football.

“During a routine physical conducted by the Saint’s medical team down in New Orleans, I’ve come to learn that I have Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, and will be stepping away from football. At this time to fight a new opponent: Cancer. I’m grateful for the support and thankful for people who have stood firm with me. There hasn’t been a single step I’ve taken without hundreds of people lighting the path before me, and I will continue to seek their guidance. That being said, I’ll go kick this thing’s ass and get back to doing what I love!” Moreau wrote on Twitter.

Who is Foster Moreau?

Foster Hotard Moreau, a professional American football player, was born on May 6, 1997, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to parents Tricia and Lyle Moreau. He attended Jesuit High School in New Orleans, where he excelled in both football and basketball. During his final year at Jesuit, Moreau played a pivotal role in his team’s victory in the LHSAA Division I state championship, catching 34 passes for 454 yards and six touchdowns.
