Haris Rauf is a Pakistani cricketer who was born on November 7, 1993. Owing to his performance in the Big Bash League, 2019/20 season, he received his national call-up in January 2020. He made his T20 debut on October 5, 2018, when he took the field for Lahore Qalandars in the 2018 Abu Dhabi T20 Trophy.
In 2018 November, he was acquired by the Lahore Qalandars in the players’ draft for the 2019 Pakistan Super League.
As a student, he was more interested in football and only played cricket when his cricket coach asked him to attend the Lahore Qalandars trials in 2017. There, he was spotted by Aaqib Javed, who encouraged him to play cricket in Australia. His stint in the Abu Dhabi T20 Trophy was also his domestic career debut.
He made his List A debut for Baluchistan during the 2019 Pakistan Cup. Later in the year, he was named in Northern’s squad for the 2019–20 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy tournament. This marked his first-class debut.
A month later he was announced as one of the six players to be watched out for ahead of the National T20 Cup tournament by the Pakistan Cricket Board.
In December 2019, he was called in as Dale Steyn’s replacement in the Melbourne Stars squad. In his second match against the Hobart Hurricanes, he returned with a five-for. On January 8 2020 he became the first Pakistani cricketer to scalp a hat-trick.
It was only time before he received the national call-up. He made his international debut in a T20 series against Bangladesh in In January 2020.
In May 2020, he was awarded the central contract by the PCB ahead of the 2020-21 season.
He made his ODI debut for Pakistan against Zimbabwe on October 30, 2020. Following this, he was named in the squad for Pakistan’s tour to New Zealand, a Test series against South Africa and West Indies.
In his 23 T20Is, he has taken 28 wickets, with his best being 3/29.
