Ivan Perisic, the Croatian footballer, plays as a winger for Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur and the Croatian National team. 

The 33-year-old player said, “Cristiano Ronaldo couldn’t win the World Cup with Portugal and now Lionel Messi wants to win it with Argentina. We will give 100% so that Modric gets its first,” Perisic said at a press conference.

Who is Ivan Perisic?

Ivan Perisic was born on February 2, 1989, in Split, Croatia to father Ante Perisic and mother Tihana Perisic. He was raised in a farming background family along with a sister Anita Perisic. His father ran a hen poultry farm outside his hometown of Omis on the Croatian coast. He often helped his father on the poultry farm, which earned him the nickname, Koka meaning “hen.”

Ivan developed an interest in football during childhood. His family got into a financial crisis such that they couldn’t afford his academy fees. He spent six years at Hajduk, playing football and going to school. Over the farm’s loans, his father took another one to finance his child’s career opportunities and sent him to France

Perisic was called up for trials by Jean-Pierre Peugeot’s Sochaux, a French club. Luckily, he broke through as soon as he played his first game for the club in 2006. He later moved to Belgium, expecting growth prospects. Playing for a Belgian club, he became the Belgian Pro League top goal scorer and Belgian Best Footballer of the Year for 2011.

This helped him move to Borussia Dortmund, where he won the 2011–12 Bundesliga
