Jason Sanders is an American football kicker for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). Born on November 16, 1995, he played college football at New Mexico and was drafted by the Dolphins in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Sanders attended Villa Park High School, where he participated in football. From 2014 until 2017, Sanders studied and played collegiate football at New Mexico. In his undergraduate career, he made 25 out of 35 field goal attempts and 111 out of 112 extra point attempts, with a long of 53 yards.

In the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft, Sanders was selected by the Miami Dolphins as their 229th overall pick. He was one of two kickers selected in that year’s draft. After the Dolphins released undrafted rookie kicker Greg Joseph, he was designated the team’s starting kicker. In the season opener against the Tennessee Titans, he played in his first NFL game. In the 27-20 triumph, he made all three of his field goal attempts and both of his extra point attempts.

In his rookie season, Sanders had a 90 percent field goal conversion rate in 16 games, which was the fifth-best mark in team history. Sanders hit 18 of 20 field goals overall on the season. Additionally, he scored 35 out of 36 extra points. Sanders was selected for the Pro Football Writers of America’s 2018 all-rookie team following his debut season.

During the 2019 campaign, he made 23 of 30 field goal attempts and 29 of 30 extra point attempts. He had the most points among all NFL players at the end of the 2020 season. Additionally, he was named to the First Team All-Pro. He made all 36 of his extra point tries in addition to 36 of 39 field goals.
