The 22nd edition of the FIFA
World Cup
started on November 20 and will have its finals on December 18 this
year. The tournament is being held in Qatar, marking the second FIFA ever to be
held in Asia.

The Mexico team will face Poland on November
22, 2022. The match is being held at Stadium 974 in Doha, Qatar. The two
prominent players from the Mexican team are Javier Hernández and Raul
Jimenez
.

Who is
Javier Hernández?

Javier Hernández was born on June 1, 1988, in Guadalajara, Mexico. He was
raised in Morelia, while his father, Javier
‘Chicharo’ Nicolás Hernández Gutiérrez played for Monarcas Morelia. Javier is nicknamed, ‘Chicharito.’

Hernández attended
elementary school at the Instituto Piaget, where he also played for the school’s
football team. At the age of 9, he joined the Mexican professional football
club C.D. Guadalajara. He signed his first professional contract at the age of
15. While playing football professionally, he also attended the Universidad del
Valle de Atemajac. Due to an injury, he was unable to play in the 2005 FIFA
U-17 World Championship.

In 2010, Javier
signed a deal with Manchester United and made his debut with the club in July of that year. After participating in the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup with Mexico, he
returned to Manchester United ahead of a game. Shortly after, he was admitted
to the hospital after he was hit with a ball during a training session. It
was revealed that he was suffering from a pre-existing neurological condition.

In 2014, he signed
for Real Madrid on a season-long loan deal and made his debut in the Madrid
derby after a few days. A year later, his return to Manchester United was
announced. In 2017, he joined the English club West Ham United and made his
debut in August of that year. He signed a three-year contract with LA Galaxy, a major
league soccer club in 2020, and became the highest-paid player in the league.

A clinical goal
scorer, Hernández is described as a ‘goal-poacher’ for many of his goals are
scored from close-range.

Javier Hernández is the son of footballer Javier ‘Chicharo’ Hernández and the grandson of footballer Tomás Balcázar González. He married YouTuber and model Sarah Kohan in 2019. They
have two children – a son, Noah, born in 2019, and a daughter, Nala, born in 2020.
Just a few months after that, they got divorced in 2021.
