American football guard Kenyon Green plays for the National Football League’s Houston Texans (NFL). In the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, he was selected by the Texans.

Green was born in Humble, Texas, on March 15, 2000. He went to Atascocita High School there. Green, a five-star prospect, had originally pledged to play college football for LSU during his sophomore year. However, as a junior, he withdrew his commitment and decided to enrol at Texas A&M instead.

In his debut season with the Aggies, he started all 13 games at right guard and performed well enough to be named to the SEC All-Freshman Team. As a sophomore, Green switched to left guard and started each of the nine games for the Aggies. He was named to the first team of the All-Americans by Sporting News and the Football Writers Association of America, and to the second team by the Associated Press, the American Football Coaches Association, and the Walter Camp Foundation, tying him with BYU’s Brady Christensen for the honour. For the 2021 season, he switched to offensive tackle.

Green was named to the Sporting News, Associated Press, CBS Sports, and USA Today first team All-America team as a junior. The Walter Camp Football Foundation, The Athletic, the American Football Coaches Association, and the Football Writers Association of America all named him to their second team of All-Americans. 

Additionally, he was a finalist for the Lombardi Award, which went to Michigan’s Aidan Hutchinson in the end. In order to enter the 2022 NFL Draft, Green elected to forgo his last year of eligibility.

The Houston Texans selected Green with the 15th overall choice in the 2022 NFL Draft. On May 16, 2022, Kenyon Green and the Houston Texans agreed to a four-year rookie deal worth $15,953,406 with a $8,782,476 signing bonus.
