Boston Bruins defenseman Kevan Miller on Wednesday announced his retirement from Hockey, and said, “This was not an easy decision to make but it%u2019s time to hang up my skates.”

Born in California, 33-year-old Kevan Miller had returned to the 2021 NHL season, after he missed the entire season of 2019-20 due to a leg injury.

During the 2018-19 NHL, Kevan Miller had suffered a fractured kneecap due to which he had to miss the entire season of 2019-20. After his injury, people speculated that he might not return as he had undergone four surgeries on his legs. However, he returned to the 2021 season and played 28 games. He had, although, suffered a concussion during playoffs against Washington after which he did not return to the ice.  

He had attended Boston Bruins’ training camp but was released to Providence in 2011. After playing five games with Providence, Boston signed an entry-level contract with him, %u200Bopting to keep him with Providence for the 2011%u201312 season.

The Bruins is the only professional organisation for which Kevan Miller played. He played 352 games for the Boston Bruins, including 33 NHL playoff games and 20 AHL playoff games.  

The 33-year-old has also played 154 AHL games with Providence Bruins.  

Kevan Miller had signed a four-year contract with the Boston Bruins in October 2016. After missing an entire season, out of contract with the Bruins, he re-signed a one-year contract in October last year.
