Lamar Dematrice Jackson Jr. plays as a quarterback for the
National Football League’s Baltimore Ravens in Baltimore, Maryland (NFL).

Lamar Jackson was born in Pompano Beach, Florida on January
7, 1997. He went to Santa Luces Community High School in Lantana, Florida for
his first two years of high school football before moving to Boynton Beach High
School in Boynton Beach, Florida for his last two years. He was named the Lou
Groza Palm Beach County High School Player of the Year during this period.

Jackson played college football with the University of
Louisville Cardinals after graduating from high school. He guided the Cardinals
to a 7-5 record and a trip to the Music City Bowl (Nashville) as a rookie.

Jackson won the Walter Camp Award and the Maxwell Award as
the finest all-around player in college football during his second year. He
also won the Heisman Trophy in 2016, making him the first Louisville Cardinal
to receive the honour.

Jackson chose to skip his final year of college and join the
2018 NFL Draft instead. The Baltimore Ravens selected him in the first round
with the 32nd overall pick when he was 21 years old. Jackson guided the Ravens
to two victories in his debut season, finishing with a 10-6 record and winning
the AFC North to secure a playoff berth.

In the 2019 NFL season, Jackson was named First-Team
All-Pro, the NFL’s Most Valuable Player, and the NFL Passing touchdown leader.
He led the Ravens to a 14-2 regular season record, clinching the NFC North for
the second year in a row.

He suffered a concussion on the final play of the third
quarter of the Ravens’ 3–17 loss against the Buffalo Bills in 2020. He was also
diagnosed with COVID-19 during this season and was placed on the
reserve/COVID-19 list. He was activated on December 7.

The Ravens chose to execute Jackson’s fifth-year option on
April 30, 2021.
