Liam Stephen Livingstone is an English cricketer who has represented both Lancashire and England. Livingstone is a right-handed opening batsman and occasional spin bowler who can bowl leg-spin and off-spin.
In May 2015, he made his Twenty20 debut for Lancashire against Leicestershire. In the ECB’s first The Hundred competition, he was named Most Valuable Player.

Livingstone, who was born in August 1993, made his first-class debut for Lancashire in the first match of the 2016 season. He was handed his county cap on April 24, 2017, after leading Lancashire to their first victory of the 2017 season as stand-in captain. He was named club captain for the 2018 season on November 30, 2017, replacing Steven Croft.

Livingstone was named in England’s Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for the South Africa series in June 2017. On June 23, 2017, he made his T20I debut for England against South Africa. Following a strong performance for the England Lions side during the Ashes Winter of 2017/18, national selector James Whitaker said that Livingstone was a “standout performer.” On 10 January 2018, Livingstone received his first call up to the England Test squad for their upcoming two-match series against New Zealand.
Rajasthan Royals purchased Livingstone at the player auction for the 2019 Indian Premier League in December 2018 and in February 2021, ahead of the 2021 Indian Premier League.

He was purchased by the Punjab Kings in the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League season in February 2022.
Only in 2021 did the Rajasthan Royals sign England hitter Liam Livingstone for a fee of Rs 75 lakh (INR 7.5 million). Despite having an unimpressive season with the Royals in the IPL 2022, Livingstone sparked a major bidding war amongst the clubs at the super auction for the IPL 2022. Punjab Kings subsequently signed him for Rs 11.50 crore (INR 115 million), making him the most expensive overseas pick at the auction this year.

Overall, after Ishan Kishan (15.25 crore), Deepak Chahar (14 crores), and Shreyas Iyer (12.25 crore), the England all-rounder became the fourth most expensive purchase in the IPL 2022 auction. Other franchises interested in Livingstone were Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings, and Gujarat Titans, who were embroiled in a bidding war until PBKS secured him. Livingstone offered a special greeting to the franchise’s supporters shortly after being chosen.
