Mohammad Hasnain is a right-arm fast bowler in the Pakistan squad. Hasnain debuted in Pakistan’s match against India on August 28. The 6’1” tall pacer is part of the Pakistan squad in the Pakistan versus India match on September 4.

Who is Mohammad Hasnain?

Mohammad Hasnain was born on August 10, 2000, in Hyderabad, a city located in Sindh which is a province in the south-eastern region of Pakistan.

In March 2019, he was named to the One Day International (ODI) squad for the series against Australia held in the United Arab Emirates, and his international debut came against the Aussies in Sharjah on March 24, 2019- a game which Australia won at a canter, by 8 wickets. Hasnain did not get a wicket and ended with 0/54 in his 9 overs. In the 3rd ODI of the series, also won by Australia, he finally captured his first international wickets finishing the match with figures of 2/52.

On November 3, 2020, he enjoyed his first big international performance when he grabbed his first 5-wicket haul against Zimbabwe in Rawalpindi. He has played 8 ODIs and has 12 wickets to his name at this point in time.

He made his international debut in the T20 format during Pakistan’s tour of England in 2019 in a comprehensive 7-wicket win for England at Cardiff. He has played 18 T20I matches in his career so far with 17 wickets to his name. His best figures of 3/37 came against Sri Lanka at Lahore on October 5, 2019.

Domestically, Hasnain plays for the Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and represents Sindh in first-class cricket. He is also a member of the Sydney Thunder cricket team that competes in the T20 BigBash League in Australia.

His bowling action has been the subject of much discussion. In February 2022, he was suspended by the International Cricket Council (ICC) due to an illegal bowling action. In June 2022, his action was cleared following further assessments.
