Niclas Fullkrug came
off the bench in the 70th minute for Thomas Mullar and scored a much-needed
equalizer for the Germans against Spain in the 83rd minute.

Alvaro Morata made
a breakthrough for Spain but Fullkrug’s thumping finish saved a point. It was
Germany’s first goal by a substitute since the 2014 World Cup final against
Argentina when Mario Gotze hit the back of the net. The race for knockout qualification is
still wide open, if Germany beat Costa Rica in Thursday’s finale and Japan
loses to Spain, Germany will automatically qualify.
