Rebekah Labuschagne, wife of Australia batter Marnus Labuschagne, welcomed their first child on September 20. The couple made the announcement on social media Sunday. 

The two shared pictures of their baby girl Hallie Grace Labuschagne. The 26-year-old Aussie player had announced in May that he and Rebekah were going to become parents.

“Bek and I are so excited to welcome Hallie Grace Labuschagne to the world on the 20th of September. Easily the proudest moment of my life so far,” Marnus Labuchagne captioned his social media post. 

  “Embracing the dad life,” he stated in another post. 

Who is Rebekah Labuschagne?

Born on March 20, 1995 in Brisbane, Rebekah Labuschagne in cricketer Marnus Labuschagne’s wife. She is 27 years old. 

The couple first met at Gateway Baptist Church in the Redlands area of Brisbane. They tied the knot on May 26, 2017.

Rebekah is often seen in the stands, cheering for her husband during matches. 

Marnus was recently in news after he was not selected in Australia’s squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup. The South Africa-born batter has been the team’s mainstay in Tests and ODIs. 

He has played one T20 international against Pakistan this year. Labuschagne, in 28 Test matches, has scored 2539 runs an an average of 54.02. In 24 ODIs, he has 734 runs against his name.

“We’re just going with an allrounder-heavy side. Two quicks plus Zampa, and Cameron Green as the fourth genuine bowler. And then using Marsh, Stoinis, Maxwell as our fifth bowler effectively. It’s a way of lengthening our batting, and I think it’s important we keep trying to juggle the structure of the team around a little bit over the next little while,” skipper Aaron Finch said about the squad selection. 

“We don’t want to get pigeonholed into playing in one particular structure of team.”

Labuschagne’s mother’s name is Alta Labuschagne. He has a pet Labrador named Milo at home.
