Scott Rolen is now a member of the Hall of Fame after waiting patiently on the ballot for numerous years.
Six months after the Baseball Writers Association of America voted to induct the third baseman, he was finally given the honor on Sunday. Rolen received 76.3% of the vote in his sixth year on the ballot.

Rolen and Fred McGriff are now officially recognized among all the baseball’s all-time greats selected by the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Elected in January, Rolen now holds a special place as the only primary third baseman in the Hall of Fame to ever play for the Cardinals.
Who is Scott Rolen?
Scott Rolen is a former professional baseball player who had a successful career in Major League Baseball. He was born in Evansville, Indiana, on April 4, 1975.
Scott Rolen was a third-baseman who excelled at both strong hitting and outstanding defense. With the Philadelphia Phillies, he made his Major League Baseball debut in 1996, and he rapidly rose to become one of the premier third basemen in the game. In 1997, Rolen was named the National League Rookie of the Year.

He played for a number of organizations over his career, including the Cincinnati Reds, Toronto Blue Jays, Philadelphia Phillies, and St. Louis Cardinals. Rolen played third base exceptionally well, earning him eight Gold Glove Awards and seven All-Star selections.
Along with his individual accomplishments, Rolen was a member of the 2006 World Series-winning St. Louis Cardinals team. Rolen was appointed the director of player development for Indiana University baseball on July 18, 2018.
Rolen is married and is the father of two children. Rolen’s family, including his wife and kids, joined him in celebrating his induction into the Hall of Fame. When Rolen’s name first came on the Hall of Fame ballot in 2018, his son predicted that his father would be inducted someday.
