Left-handed aggressive batsman, Shimron Hetmyer is a West Indian Cricketer of Guyanese origin. He catches the eye of the viewers with his attacking prowess and also his multi-coloured hair.
He led West Indies to their first Under-19 World Cup title, in 2016, and then went on to make his name as a lower-middle-order thrasher in T20 cricket.

Who is Shimron Hetmyer?
Shimron Odilon Hetmyer is a West-Indian cricketer who was born on December 26, 1996 and was brought up in New Amsterdam, Guyana. He was born to Gladston and Ingrid Hetmyer. His father worked at sugar estates. He is the youngest in the family and has three elder siblings- a brother named Seon and two sisters named Shonette and Shonelle. He comes from a modest family. He considers his elder brother Seon Hetmyer as his source of inspiration.

He has always been highly athletic and at the age of 9, he started playing school-level cricket for the Rose Hall Estate Primary School and Young Warriors Cricket Club where he accompanied his elder brother. At the mere age of 16, he scored a century in a first class match.
He led the West Indies Under-19 team to their first ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup title in Bangladesh in 2016.
A left-handed aggressive top-order batsman, Hetmyer became the youngest player in the history of CPL to score a century when he made 100 runs for Guyana Amazon Warriors against the Jamaica Tallawahs.

Hetmyer made his Test debut in 2017 against Pakistan and in 2018, The International Cricket Council (ICC) named Hetmyer as one of the five breakout stars in men’s cricket.
In February 2019, in a match against England, Hetmyer scored the fastest century by a West Indies batsman in an ODI match; he achieved it in just 82 balls. On 17 June 2019, Hetmyer bagged his 1,000th run in ODIs in a match against Bangladesh.
In the Indian Premier League(IPL) auction of February 2020, Delhi Capitals bought him, but two years later, in the 2022 IPL auction, Hetmyer was bought by the Rajasthan Royals. Hetmyer’s hidden talent of going from 0 to full throttle in no time and impeccable batting prowess paved his way and proved his price for both Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals.

He has played 16 Test Matches, 47 ODI matches, and 51 T20s.
Hetmyer is in a relationship with Nirvani Umrao and in May 2022, he announced that his first child would be born.
