Storm Sanders won the 2022 mixed doubles US Open title alongside John Peers as the pair defeated Kirsten Flipkens and Édouard Roger-Vasselin, 4-6, 6-4, 10-7. 

This is her maiden victory in the mixed doubles category. She also participated in the French Open and Wimbledon in 2022 but lost in the 2nd Round and 1st round respectively.

Who is Storm Sanders?

Storm Sanders is an Australian tennis player. She was born on August 11, 1994. Her first tournament doubles player was a wildcard into qualifying for the Sydney International. She was, however, defeated in the second round. 

Sanders, who was given a wildcard for the Hobart International in 2015, was defeated in three sets by Camila Giorgi in round one. She was then given a wildcard for the Australian Open, where she lost in the first round to world No. 46, Klára Koukalová, in straight sets.

Sanders competed in four doubles tournaments in 2018, all of which she lost in the first round. At the 2020 Thailand Open, she won her second WTA doubles title. Sanders and Marc Polmans reached the Australian Open semifinals in mixed doubles. In June, she reached the Wimbledon semifinals in women’s doubles with Caroline Dolehide of the United States.

Sanders competed in the women’s doubles with Ashleigh Barty at the Tokyo Olympics, reaching the quarterfinals. Sanders represented Australia at the BJK Cup Finals in November. In her BJK Cup debut, she won the biggest match of her singles career, defeating world No. 18, Elise Mertens.

Sanders won her third WTA Tour title, the Adelaide International, in January 2022, alongside Ashleigh Barty.

Over the course of her career, she has won 4 WTA doubles titles, the Nottingham Open in 2017, Hua Hin Championships in 2020. The player won two titles this year, The Adelaide Open and the German Open.
