Who is Tony Pollard?

Tony Pollard is an American football player who plays the running back position for the National Football League’s Dallas Cowboys (NFL). The Cowboys selected Pollard in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He was born on April 30, 1997 in Memphis city of Tennesee state and attended Melrose High School. As a senior in school, he played both the wide receiver and cornerback positions. He committed to play college football for the University of Memphis’s Tiger football team.

College Career: –

He appeared in 13 games as a redshirt freshman, starting seven of them. He had 29 receptions for 298 yards (10.3 yards per reception), 31 carries for 159 yards (5.1 yards per carry), and three touchdowns. During his sophomore season, he had 36 receptions for 536 yards (14.9 yards per catch) and 30 carries for 230 yards (7.7 yards per carry) and six touchdowns. Pollard declared for the 2019 NFL Draft on January 11, 2019.

NFL Career: –

Pollard was drafted in the fourth round, 128th overall, by the Dallas Cowboys in the 2019 NFL Draft. In his NFL debut against the New York Giants in Week 1, he had 13 carries for 24 yards in a 35-17 victory. Pollard finished Week 15 against the Los Angeles Rams with 131 rushing yards on 12 attempts, including a 44-yard touchdown, as the Cowboys won 44-21. He finished his rookie season with 86 carries for 455 yards and two rushing touchdowns, as well as 15 receptions for 107 yards and one receiving touchdown.

Pollard had 132 yards from scrimmage and two rushing touchdowns in a 41-33 win over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 15 of his second season. In total, he appeared in all 16 games, starting two of them, during the 2020 season. He finished with 101 carries for 435 yards and four touchdowns on the ground, as well as 28 receptions for 193 yards and one touchdown on the ground.

Pollard had 137 scrimmage yards in a 20-17 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 2 of 2021. Pollard had 103  yards in a 44-20 victory over the New York Giants in Week 5. Overall he played in 15 games in his third year and recorded 1,609 yards with 8 TDs.
