Trent Williams is an American football player who plays for the San Francisco 49ers in the National Football League. He plays the offensive tackle position. Williams was drafted fourth overall by the Washington Redskins in the 2010 NFL Draft. Williams is regarded as one of the league’s best tackles, having made seven consecutive Pro Bowl appearances from 2012 to 2018 and another in 2020 and 2021.

He was born on July 19, 1988, in Longview city of Texas. Williams attended Longview High School and was a unanimous first-team all-district selection as a senior. He picked the Oklahoma Sooners Football team over Louisiana State, Oklahoma State, and Texas A&M for his collegiate career.

Williams was a member of the team from 2006 to 2009. Williams played 462 snaps and had 75 knockdowns as a freshman. In his sophomore season, he appeared in all 14 games, starting six of them at right tackle. He started all 14 games as a junior in 2008, the first at left tackle and the remaining 13 at right tackle, and had 131 knockdowns. The American Football Coaches Association named Williams an All-American after he led Oklahoma with 102 knockdown blocks and 885 plays in his senior season.

NFL Career:-

Williams was drafted fourth overall by the Washington Redskins in 2010 and signed a six-year, $60 million contract with the team on July 30, 2010. Williams and teammate Fred Davis were suspended for four games in Week 14 after failing several drug tests. Despite suffering minor injuries throughout the season, Williams had his best season in 2012 and was named to the 2013 Pro Bowl. Even though the Redskins had a poor season, Williams was chosen as the team’s sole representative on the 2014 Pro Bowl team. On August 29, 2015, he agreed to a five-year, $66 million contract extension with a guaranteed $43.25 million. Williams was suspended for four games on November 1, 2016, for violating the NFL’s substance-abuse policy. 

Williams was named to his fifth straight Pro Bowl and was named to the second team for the first time in 2015. Williams was traded to the San Francisco 49ers on April 25, 2020, in exchange for a fifth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and a third-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Subsequently, he signed a six-year, $138.06 million contract extension with the 49ers on March 23, 2021, making him the highest-paid offensive lineman in the NFL. His contract includes a guaranteed $55.10 million and a signing bonus of $30.10 million.

In his NFL career till this date, he has been nominated to nine Pro-Bowls from 2012-18, then again in 2020 and 21. Along with this, he has a Second-Team All-Pro selection for the year 2015 and First-Team All-Pro in 2021, under his belt.
