At the World Athletics Championships on Friday, Yulimar Rojas of Venezuela miraculously grabbed victory from the jaws of defeat to win the women’s triple jump for the fourth time in a row.
After struggling in the preliminary rounds, Rojas vaulted 15.08m on her sixth and final attempt, while Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk of Ukraine, who had been in the lead for five attempts, won silver with 15.00m.
Leyanis Perez Hernandez of Cuba won bronze with a time of 14.96m.

Rojas hasn’t lost in her specialisation in more than two years, and in spite of losing when competing in her first senior world championships at the Rio Olympics in 2016, she still won silver.
