Jamin Pugh, better known as Jay Briscoe, one half of the Briscoe Brothers tag team, has
died in a car accident in Laurel. He was 38. He was best known by his ring name
Jay Briscoe. Tony Khan made the news public on Twitter that Jay Briscoe has died.
He sent his best to the Briscoe family, especially Jay’s brother, Mark Briscoe.

“Sadly, Jamin Pugh has passed away. Known to fans as Jay
Briscoe, he was a star in ROH for over 20 years, from the first show until
today. Jay and his brother Mark dominated ROH, reigning as champions to this
day. We’ll do whatever we can to support his family. Rest In Peace Jamin,” Khan
said.

Who was Jamin Pugh aka Jay Briscoe?

Jamin Pugh was a professional wrestler. He was signed with Ring
of Honor, where he was one-half of ROH World Tag Team Champions with Mark
Briscoe in their thirteenth reign. Pugh was also a two-time ROH World Champion
and ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions.

He was born on January 25, 1984 in Salisbury, Maryland, US.

In 2022, the Briscoes won the NWA Crockett Cup in 2022, and
they held the IWGP World Tag Tea, Championship, among many other achievements.
They wrestled for several promotions and won numerous titles. They had a short
run in IMPACT Wrestling and won the tag titles there.

In May 2013, Jay triggered a controversy on his Twitter account, when he threatened to shoot anybody that tries to “teach [his] kids that there’s nothing wrong with [same-sex marriage]”. Previously, he also made other derogatory comments about homosexual people on his Twitter account. Later, he apologized for his comments and also agreed to donate his full pay from the next two shows to the Partners Against Hate (PAH) charitable organization.
