Dawson Knox and Buffalo Bills on Sunday paid tribute to the tight end’s younger brother Luke, who died in August. The NFL outfit observed a moment of silence ahead of the game against Kansas City Chiefs. 

The Bills won 24-20. Quarterback Josh Allen found Dawson Knox for a game-winning touchdown pass in the final minutes to seal their fifth win of the 2022 season. The tight-end dedicated the TD to his late brother Luke.

After the match, he tweeted, “That one’s for you 16.” 

“I knew it was coming, man. I knew it was coming!” coach McDermott gave Dawson one of the game balls after the win.

“The light shines on those who come through adversity,” the tight-end said.

Who was Luke Knox, NFL star Dawson Knox’s brother?

Luke Knox was a Florida International football player. He died in August, at the age of 22. 

Luke joined the college team last year. He was discovered comatose in his dormitory room on August 17. No cause of death has been revealed yet. The police have said that they found no indication of wrongdoing

FIU Coach Mike MacIntyre paid tribute to Luke at the time.

“Words cannot explain the sincere sorrow we feel due to the passing of our teammate and friend, Luke Knox. I had the chance to coach Luke at FIU and Ole Miss. Even though I respected his love for the sport, I’ll always remember his genuine affection for his family and teammates,” he said.

Luke Knox spent four years in Oxford and wore the number 16 jersey. He was set to play for the Carolina Panthers this year. 

The 22-year-old was a star at Brentwood Academy in Nashville. He emerged as a contributor at linebacker in 2019. He converted to tight end in 2021.
