Minnesota Vikings legendary head coach Bud Grant has died at age 95, the team announced early on Saturday. He was the Vikings’ head coach from 1967 to 1983 and also returned for a final season in 1985. Before joining Minnesota, he was the head coach for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the CFL team from 1957 to 1966. Grant was the first coach to lead teams in both the Grey Cup (CFL) and the Super Bowl (NFL), with Marv Levy becoming the second in 1990.

The legendary coach still had his own office at the Vikings’ facility until his death, as he was listed as a team consultant after his retirement. His wife, Patricia Bellow died of Parkinson’s skin disease in 2009 at the age of 81.

Patricia Bellow was the wife of Bud Grant. He was a former American football and Canadian football head coach and player, as well as a former member of the National Basketball Association.

Patricia was born as Patricia Nelson on March 28, 1927. She passed away in 2009. There is no information about her early years because she always kept her life private.

She died in March 2009 at Fairview Southdale Hospital. She was 81 years old. She had Parkinson’s disease for a long period, which caused her death.

According to Sportsdave, Patricia and Bud got married in 1950 in a private ceremony attended by their close friends and family. The couple had six children together, two daughters and four sons named, Kathy, Laurie, Peter, Mike, Bruce, and Danny. Their son, Bruce passed away on July 25, 2018, from brain cancer.

Mike Grant started coaching in 1979 at Minnetonka High School before taking over as the head coach at Forest Lake in 1981, 1986, and 1989-1991. Since 1992, he has served as Eden Prairie High School’s head football coach in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. He has led Eden Prairie to 11 state championships, Sportsdave reported.

Bud Grant’s grandson Ryan played linebacker for the University of Minnesota from 2008 to 2012 while also playing quarterback for Eden Prairie. Jenny, granddaughter of Bud, is married to former NFL quarterback Gibran Hamdan.
