Ezekiel Elliott, after seven successful seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, is being released by the franchise. The veteran, the team told NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, will be designated as a post-June 1 release in order to create cap space.

  • Buffalo Bills

As per reports, the Bills are interested in Elliott. The team would want get him at a time when they have been struggling on short-yardage back with Devin Singletary and James Cook in charge. Josh Allen and co are reportedly also making a splash at Christian McCaffrey and Saquon Barkley.

  • Chicago Bears:

After releasing David Montgomery during the free agency, the Bears are looking for a strong leader to guide Khalil Herbert through the 2023 season.

Ezekiel Elliott can be a good alternative, a needed veteran presence in their offense. His elite blocking skills can help protect Justin Fields.

  • Carolina Panthers:

The Panthers are working to replace Christian McCaffrey, who they lost during the 2022 season. They are also reportedly approaching D’Onta Foreman and Chuba Hubbard.

Ezekiel Elliott can be a right fit into the mix desired by the Panthers. They are expected to choose a quarterback with the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. 

  • Los Angeles Chargers

Austin Ekeler has reportedly permitted trade from the Los Angeles Chargers. He’s been one of the best running backs in the NFL over the last several years, so losing him creates a significant gap in their offense. Ezekiel Elliott can fill that gap, with leadership to their young running backs, including Joshua Kelley and Isaiah Spiller.

Samaje Perine recently entered agreed to a deal with the Denver Broncos, after Cincinnati Bengals lost him during the 2023 NFL. They are also potentially moving on from Joe Mixon. They can substitute Ezekiel Elliott to help protect Joe Burrow who is one of the most pressured quarterbacks in the NFL.
