Edin Dzeko of Inter Milan has reportedly been given a two-year deal by Fenerbahce.

The 37-year-old Dzeko’s contract with Inter expires at the end of this month, but his attention is right now on Saturday’s Champions League final against his previous team, Manchester City, in Istanbul.

According to Sky Italia, Fenerbahce wants Dzeko to stay in Istanbul beyond the final.

Dzeko wants to stay at Inter, where he has scored 31 goals in 100 appearances since joining the team in 2021. For Simone Inzaghi, he is still a key player.

After Saturday’s high-profile match, the Bosnia and Herzegovina international will make a decision about his future.

Dzeko began his career at Zeljeznicar before moving on to Teplice and then Wolfsburg in 2007. He joined Manchester City in 2011 and won the Premier League twice after that.

Prior to making a permanent move to Roma, he spent time there on loan. Dzeko afterwards transferred to Inter, where he has since won two Coppa Italias.

Additionally, he has 127 times of Bosnia and Herzegovina cap and has scored 64 goals.

The attacker’s legacy at the Etihad is defined by his headed goal in the unforgettable final day comeback in 2012 to help City lift their maiden Premier League title, and it’s evident the Bosnian still has a lot of affection for the Blues.

“Being in the final of the Champions League against my club, City, it’s a big thing for me,” he told BT Sport. “I’m looking forward to it because I will have a lot of fans in the stadium on both sides so I cannot wish for more.”

Dzeko has scored four goals in Inter’s run to the Champions League final, including in the first semi-final leg against Milan. However, he has not been in the free-scoring form of yesteryear this season.
