Lamar Jackson on Thursday agreed on a five-year extension with the Baltimore Ravens. The 26-year-old’s reported $260 million makes him the highest paid player in NFL history.
“Lamar Jackson’s five-year deal is worth $260 million, including $185 million guaranteed, per sources. On an average per year basis, it makes Jackson the NFL’s new highest-paid player,” Adam Schefter tweeted.
Now, Ravens and Lamar fans are excited to see the star quarterback play alongside Super Bowl-winning wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Reports also suggest that the franchise has approached DeAndre Hopkins. The Arizona Cardinals WR, as per Network’s Ian Rapoport, is looking for a way out.
Hopkins is currently in the first year of his two-year contract with the Cardinals. His deal has a $54.5 million extension and is due for a $30.8 million against the salary cap in 2023.
However, Baltimore is expected to face a major issue signing Hopkins – salary cap. The Ravens had less than $4 million in cap space before getting Lamar to stay. The deal will need some restructuring. Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills have also been linked to the star WR.

Hours ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft, reports said that the Arizona Cardinals are working on trading WR DeAndre Hopkins and the 3rd overall pick to the Tennessee Titans for the 11th overall pick and more.
“While the #Titans have had conversations about a potential trade up to No. 3 — among other spots — they have not had conversations centered around star WR DeAndre Hopkins, source said,” Ian Rapoport tweeted.
Baltimore have already signed OBJ on a one-year contract. He services were secured in a deal worth up to $18 million. If they manage to bring in DeHop, the team will surely be looking at a Super Bowl season.
