The New Orleans Saints have made preparations for a possible suspension of running back Alvin Kamara by acquiring Jamaal Williams. Williams is an experienced player who has over 1,000 rushing yards in two of his six NFL seasons.

The Saints’ selection to sign Williams demonstrates how seriously they are treating the prospect of Kamara’s suspension. They are unwilling to gamble on Kamara being available for all 17 games in order to save their season. The Saints now have two quality running backs who can step in and replace Kamara if he is suspended thanks to the addition of Williams.
How long, if ever, Kamara will be suspended is still a mystery. The Saints, however, have made it obvious that they are ready for any scenario. If Kamara is forced to miss time, they have two quality running backs who can help them survive the crisis.

Kamara pleaded not guilty to a minor charge of breach of peace last month. The accusation was connected to an incident that happened in February 2022 at the Cromwell Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Kamara and three other people are accused of trampling and punching down a guy during an argument outside an elevator.
Kamara initially faced felony violence charges; however, he agreed to a plea deal that required him to pay the victim’s medical bills of $105,000 and perform 30 hours of community service.
NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport recently discussed the potential suspension duration for Alvin Kamara due to an assault incident that took place in Las Vegas the previous year. After a meeting between the running back and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Wednesday, Rapoport analyzed different scenarios that could influence the length of the suspension.

“I anticipate a suspension for Alvin Kamara, but the exact length, whether it’s two, four, or six games, will depend on certain factors,” Rapoport mentioned during an NFL Network segment.
