WWE Hall of
Famer Kurt Angle has opened up about the few regrets he has from his wrestling days.
The 52-year-old former WWF Champion said he regrets not having fulfilled his
dream of facing off against wrestlers Daniel Bryan and fellow Hall of Famer
Bret Hart.

In an
interview with Inside the Ropes, the Olympic gold medallist also spoke highly
of Dolph Ziggler, confessing his desire to work with the ‘The Showoff’ as well.
However, he said Ziggler was not at the very top of his list of his dream
opponents.

“I always
wanted to work with Dolph. From the beginning when I came back to WWE, he was
on my radar. The kid is such a special talent, he can do just about anything
and I think that his size really helps him,” he said.

“He’s a little
bit smaller, so he’s able to do a lot more. But I’ve always loved his work.
I’ve been a big fan of him since he started and I would have loved to have a
match with him. He wasn’t my dream match per se: Daniel Bryan was, or Bret Hart.”

Angle revealed
how he tried multiple times to get a match against both Bryan and Hart, but it
didn’t work out. And this isn’t the first time he’s confessing his desire to
have faced Hart in a match. In an interview last year, Angle said he tried to
convince Hart for a fight.

However, Hart
– also known as ‘The Hitman’ – turned down the offer as he did not think it
would be the kind of ‘Bret Hart match’ that the two would’ve wanted. Angle said
that if a young Hart had approached him now for a dream match, he also would turn
it down.

“So, I
understood why Bret didn’t want to do it. Because he had the stroke and he had
a lot of bad luck, you know, some things happened that made it medically
difficult for him to come back and be at his very best.”

Angle retired
in April, 2019 at Wrestlemania 35 but has time and again hinted at a possible
return.
