In an unprecedented move, Consumers Electronic Show – the world’s largest tech gathering, has shifted the event to online due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.
Traditionally hosted in Las Vegas, the decision to hold CES 2021 virtually came after the logistical problems made it impossible to bring in tens and thousands of people together for the event. Adjusting to the new normal, the organisers have declared that the event would be ‘an all-digital experience’, BBC reported.
Although there are complaints regarding how at an online event, the scope to make networks diminishes significantly, the organisers have assured that they are working very hard to provide a highly personalised experience in the event.
CES 2021 will be held between January 11 to January 14. Despite the new challenges, the organisers have promised that the event will continue to be a highly scrutinised and valuable trade show. They have also introduced news in new categories, including, 5G technologies, consumer devices, health and wellness, smart homes, and more.
Under the 5G technology, discussions about ‘momentum and adaptation’ of the technologies have been planned. However, there won’t be much discussion about the smartphone and Artificial Intelligence sector this year. Due to the effect of the pandemic in our lives, wellness, and health in context to technology will be explored, thereby promoting the rise of ‘pandemic tech’.

However, the new normal demands from the world to find innovative ways to find solutions and CES 2021 is a proud example of that.
