The final moments before Cash App founder Bob Lee succumbed to his death were reportedly caught on CCTV video on a street in San Francisco on Tuesday, April 4.The San Francisco Standard has reviewed the surveillance footage in question. It showed Lee holding his mobile phone with one hand while tending to his stab wounds with the other. He staggered down an empty street early in the morning in San Francisco’s Rincon Hill neighborhood, leaving behind a trail of blood behind him.

In the video, he could also be seen approaching a Toyota Camry which had its hazard lights on. Lee lifted up his shirt to reveal to the driver that he was stabbed. However, the vehicle and its occupant sped away from the scene instead of helping Lee.

Just moments after that, Lee collapsed to the ground. He did manage to get back to his feet but fell to the road again after walking a little further down the street. Lee also dialed 911 and screamed, “Help! Someone stabbed me!” using his cell phone before his death. However, by the time first responders arrived at the scene, Lee was already unconscious. He was rushed to a local hospital where he died.

The suspect has not been identified yet. According to the authorities, Lee was stabbed twice in the chest by the assailant. The suspect fled the scene of the crime. The motive behind the attack is not yet known.

Tech moguls Elon Musk and Jack Dorsey were among the first ones who paid tribute to Lee after his death.Musk, the current CEO of Twitter, condemned the incident, blaming the ongoing spree of “violent crime” in San Francisco. “Many people I know have been severely assaulted,” Musk tweeted. “Violent crime in SF is horrific and even if attackers are caught, they are often released immediately.”

“It’s real. Getting calls. Heartbreaking,” Dorsey said. “Bob was instrumental to Square and Cash App. STL guy.”
