Elon Musk, after laying off nearly two-thirds of Twitter’s staff, has finally said the social media giant is done with firing people and is ready to hire again. Musk, who took over Twitter earlier this year, initially fired 50% of Twitter’s staff. Subsequently, he told employees that they should either get used to working “hardcore” or resign. A splurge of resignations followed.
Finally, Elon Musk has said the social media platform is done with sacking people and has recommended existing staffers to recommend more candidates.
Musk has maintained that he will focus on software hires. “In terms of critical hires, I would say people who are great at writing software are the highest priority,” a news report quoted Musk as saying.

On Sunday, Musk convened an all-hands meeting of Twitter’s ad sales team. At the meeting, Musk used the time to talk about ongoing updates, including his decision to reinstate former President Donald Trump on Twitter. Trump will be running for office again in 2024.
Musk further said the company needs to make ads more targeted to particular users, according to a news report.

Twitter’s current staff strength is nearly 2,700, down from 7,000 when Musk took over.
On being asked if Elon Musk was going to shift Twitter headquarters to Texas from California, the Tesla CEO said he has no such plans. A moving of the headquarters to Texas would indicate Twitter moving from left-wing to right-wing.
He stressed that this is not a right wing takeover of Twitter but a moderate takeover of the social media giant.
Twitter has been in flux since Musk took over the company after a drawn out conflict between the company’s existing bosses and the billionaire. Musk came in and fired CEO Parag Aggrawal and others in leading positions.
