Singaporean online game developer Garena announced that Free Fire World Championship 2021, which was scheduled to be held in Singapore on May 22, will now take place May 28. The finale of the esport event will be held on May 30.

Garena announced that the dates were rescheduled considering the current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic and keeping in mind the local health protocols.

In the Free Fire World series 2021, nine different teams will compete against each other and only the top 3 teams will qualify for the finals. The top teams will compete for the prize money of $2 million.

Due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, teams from India, Bangladesh and Pakistan will be awarded with a share of the prize pool %u201Cto recognise the team’s contribution and success in qualifying for the World%u2019s series%u201D.

In April 2021, Garena announced the opening of Free Fire for India. The two teams participating from India are Galaxy Racer and Team Elite.
