As part of Halloween celebrations, Google is bringing back the popular Magic Cat
Academy doodle game from 2016 with an underwater twist.
Users on
the Google homepage can help Momo the cat take on foes in what it calls a “subaquatic
shriek-quel” of the 2016 doodle. In that version, Momo had set out to rescue
her magical school, with players required to draw the shapes that appear above
the heads of the ghosts to defeat them.

The 2020
edition has the same mechanics, except users will get to defeat sharks and
other sea animals instead of ghosts.
Google has
also launched augmented reality characters for Halloween 2020. Users can search
for Halloween, Jack-o-lanterns, human skeleton, cat, dog or German Shephard on
the Google app or the mobile browser to summon them for special activities on
both Android and iOS devices.
The Google
Assistant will recite a spooky riddle or sing a Halloween song on command. One
can also hear about the tales of a werewolf, a ghost and a vampire preparing
their haunting skills and other stories in multiple languages including Arabic,
French, Indonesian, Japanese, Spanish and others.

Users can
also ask Google to set the mood for Halloween by saying, “Hey Google, haunt my
house”, upon which Assistant devices will play spooky sounds and flash violet,
green and orange lights.
Additionally,
Nest doorbell ringtones can be switched to the Black Cat and Werewolf theme
sounds, which will be available till November 1.
