Almost every smartphone, whether iOS or Android, comes with a note-taking app. However, while on a call or an important conference, users tend to forget that these apps exist and note-taking is done the hard way. WhatsApp can be a handy tool for these users with a self-messaging feature that can be used for taking quick notes.

The self-chat or self-message feature on WhatsApp can be started by two ways, according to News 18. For the first method, the user needs to search the URL wa.me// with the 10-digit phone number, adding 91 before the number. Searching this on the browser will lead to a new page that says ‘Chat on WhatsApp with +91 (10-digit mobile number).

On selecting the  ‘Continue to Chat’ option, users will get two options. One will lead to the download link of the WhatsApp Web if the user is using a desktop web browser. The user then needs to click on the WhatsApp web option right below the download option.

Once the self-chat starts, users can save it with their preferred name for better visibility.

If this method fails for the users, they can try the other way. For this users need to create a group with any close friend or relative following which, the members can be removed and the chat can be used for self chatting.
