The much-awaited OnePlus 8T, powered by the Android-based OxygenOS 11, was launched on Wednesday. It is the first smartphone to feature the newest Android 11 after Google’s own Pixel phones.

The new model comes as a successor to the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro, which were launched in April. The 8T already has an edge over the two smartphones as they still run on Android 10.

DISPLAY

The new phone has a 6.55-inch FHD+ 2.5D flexible display with support for the HDR10+ standard and an A+ display rating from DisplayMate.

While the OnePlus 8 Pro featured a 6.78-inch screen, the OnePlus 8 had a similar-sized 6.55-inch screen.

PERFORMANCE

On the specifications part, all the three phones in the 8 series are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor and are available in both 8GB variant and 12GB RAM variant.

However, OnePlus 8T still uses LPDDR4X RAM and not DDR5 RAM like in the OnePlus 8 Pro.

The OnePlus 8T does use a UFS 3.1 flash storage, compared to UFS 3.0 in the OnePlus 8.
