Extending its boundaries of digital goals, Reliance Jio has launched a new web browser JioPages, which has been “conceptualised and designed entirely in India.”

The new mobile web-browser, which runs on the Chromium Blink engine, is targeted toward Indian users and supports eight Indian languages: Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Gujarati, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Bengali.

Currently available for download only on the Google Play Store, JioPages is packed with features like regional news content curation, personalised content,  incognito browsing, encrypted connections along with customisable themes and home screen.

The new browser will also feature a smart download manager which will categorise downloads according to the file type – Image, Video, Document or Pages. This is touted to make file management easier for the user.

To push the envelope of personalisation, JioPages has an Informative Card features, which show stock market trends, commodity prices or your daily IPL scores.

The Adblock Plus feature can not only block a majority of ads but will also allow users to whitelist domains to show ads.

The incognito mode in the browser will also come with a pin-lock.

The company hasn’t launched the iOS variant of the browser as of now.
