Tesla co-founder Elon Musk is once again in the headlines and this time for a generous,
environment-friendly offer. Elon
Musk On Thursday took to Twitter to announce that he would offer 100 million
dollars as a reward for the development of the ‘best’ technology to capture carbon dioxide emissions.

“I am
donating $100M towards a prize for best carbon capture technology.” Musk wrote
on Twitter adding that further details on this will be revealed next week.

Musk, who is an billionaire engineer, is undoubtedly one of the most prominent climate influencers of present times and never hesitated to point out his ideas on what doesn’t work well for the environment.

In various interviews, Musk emphasised need for corporation to tone down their greenhouse emission and called for eliminating subsidies and impose a ‘carbon tax’ on companies that spew greenhouse gases.

Meanwhile, Joe Biden’s administration on Wednesday submitted a letter to the United Nations to initiate the process of US’ re-entry in the Paris climate agreement.

The US first signed the agreement in 2016, ensuring that the country would reduce greenhouse emissions by 26-28% from 2005 levels by 2025.
