The episode "Vergangenheit" showed us the backdrop of Queen Elizabeth's uncle, the Duke of Windsor's, life. The entire country hated him after abdicating from the throne to spend his remaining years with a woman who's been divorced three times. But Elizabeth always had a soft spot for him. The Duke of Windsor comes back into Elizabeth's life after asking for a job.
