'Never Have I Ever' season 2 released only recently and bowled over the ones that were unimpressed by the first season on Netflix. The narrator of the story is the former tennis player John McEnroe, making a comeback after season 1.
'Never Have I Ever' is a coming-of-age comedy series produced by Mindy Kaling of Office fame and is inspired by her life as an Indian American in the USA. The story revolves around an Indian American teen who’s going through a massive teenage crisis, desired to be popular in high school, is desperate to lose her virginity and cannot wait to join the Ivy League.
While the second season saw John McEnroe get back to narrate Devi Vishwakarma’s life, Gigi Hadid joined the team as another narrator, replacing Chrissy Teigan.

In a recent interview with The Los Angeles Times, John McEnroe revealed that Mindy Kaling approached him with the script at a post-Oscars Vanity Fair party. Well, the rest is history.
Interestingly, the former tennis hall-of-famer found it to be the unlikeliest role of his life. “I like to try to do things that get you out of your comfort zone a little bit. I’ve always believed in the theory [that] it’s better to try and fail than not try at all. And I thought this was different,” he told the Los Angeles Times.
He added, “At certain times, I was disappointed in myself that while I was doing what I was doing — and I was even the best at it — I wasn’t getting the type of enjoyment I would have liked. So it’s nice to sort of do something later on [in life] where you can.”

John McEnroe further compared his teenage years with that of the show lead Devi Vishwakumar and said, “Devi and I are probably very similar in the sense that I was girl-crazy but I didn’t have much to show for it. I was sports-crazy — obviously, I was the best at tennis, but I played high school soccer, I played high school basketball, I played all the sports growing up. I was just a big jock-type guy. And I always was thinking: “Why don’t these girls understand how cool a guy they’re getting here?”
The former tennis star is in awe of Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, who plays Devi Vishwakumar, and believes she could even win an academy award in the next 10 years with the talent she possesses.
