Julie E “Tawny” Kitaen, an American media personality and actress who was popular for her appearances in music videos for the rock group Whitesnake in the 1980s, died at 59 on Friday. The Orange County, Calif coroner’s office listed her as Tawny Finley, and said that she died at her home in Newport Beach died in the morning. The cause of death is still unknown, reported Variety.

Kitaen was born in San Diego, California, and her career in the rock world began in 1983 when she appeared on the cover of consecutive albums by RATT, a heavy metal band, which included the band’s self-titled album ‘Out of the Cellar’ from 1984. Kitaen dated the band’s guitarist Robbin Crosby at the time.

Kitaen also appeared in ‘Back for More’ music video of RATT, and later went on to become the video vixen and gained popularity for her appearance in ‘Here I Go Again’ from 1987 by Whitesnake’s where she caught the public eyes for her auto acrobatics. She also featured in ‘The Deeper the Love’, ‘Still of the Night’ and ‘Is This Love’. She was then married to Whitesnake’s lead singer David Coverdale during the time 1989-1991.

Kitaen also attracted an acting career, most notably known for portraying herself as Tom Hanks’s girlfriend in the 1984 comedy romp ‘Bachelor Party’. She also acted in ‘White Hot’ and ‘Dead Tides, and also in a Seinfeld episode, ‘The One With The Nose Job”.

In recent years, Kitaen participated in many reality shows such as ‘Botched’, ‘The Surreal Life’ and ‘Celebrity  Rehab with Dr Drew’.
