Rajasthan Chief
Minister Ashok Gehlot has asked his party MLAs, to stay at the Hotel Fairmont
in Jaipur till August 14, where the MLAs are holed up ever since party leader
Sachin Pilot rebelled against the party leadership, reported ANI quoting their
source present at Congress meeting.

As per reports, the
statement was made by Gehlot at Congress Legislative Party meeting on Thursday,
where the CM also said that the “ministers can visit the Secretariat to
complete their work”.

Gehlot’s orders came
a day after Governor Kalraj Mishra’s late night order stating that the Rajasthan
Assembly session should convene from August 14 onward. As per reports, the
Governor, in his order, has also directed that all measures should be taken
during the conduct of Assembly Session, as per the guidelines issued to prevent
spread of COVID-19.

The Ashok Gehlot
Cabinet on Wednesday sent another proposal to the Governor for summoning the
Rajasthan Assembly, saying a session should be called on August 14. Government
sources told PTI that “this meets the 21-day notice requirement on which
Governor Kalraj Mishra was insisting”.

While rejecting the
government proposal earlier, Mishra had said a session can be called at short
notice if the agenda is to seek a vote of confidence. Otherwise, 21 days’
notice is needed, he said.
