Earlier today, an Indian Air Force C-17 aircraft that was carrying a batch of diplomats, officials and journalists from Kabul, landed at the airbase in Jamnagar, Gujarat.

The heavy-lift aircraft flew from Hamid Karzai International (HKI) Airport around 8am Kabul time with the help of US forces manning the ATC.

It is reportedly said that Indian ambassador to Afghanistan Rudrendra Tandon is on the flight along with 120 other diplomats and officials.

The evacuation comes after 24-hour-long negotiations. India is now waiting for US forces to allow civilian flights to Kabul for further evacuation.
