Donald Trump in his first public appearance since departing from the Oval Office is addressing the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Orlando.

Held annually, CPAC is a conservative conference that attracts thousands of Republic leaders and attendees. Acting as a platform for Republican leaders to interact with loyal conservatives, CPAC has also served as a stage for Republicans seeking party nominations for the elections.

Pro-trump merch and red “Make America Great Again” have been enthusiastically sported by almost all CPAC attendees. Many said that if Trump were to run in the 2024 Presidential elections, they would support him, reports CNN.

The conservative conference in Orlando has been a clear indication of Trump still being favoured by the Republicans and will likely be at the forefront of the party nominations for the 2024 elections of he decided to contest the elections again.

This year, many Republicans have made speeches ahead of the former president’s address embracing lies about the 2020 Presidential election.

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz on Friday said, “Let me tell you right now, Donald J. Trump ain’t going anywhere.”

According to the chairman of the American Conservative Union, Matt Schlapp, this year, “the race for 2024 will start at CPAC.”

Trump has been sharply criticised for enticing violence amongst his supporters which ended in the Capitol being stormed on January 6.
