All-rounder Kieron Pollard has had his own ways of protesting against umpire’s decisions while he is on the field. In the earlier incidents, Pollard was seen taking the field with his mouth taped off on one occasion and standing at the edge of the pitch while taking guard on another during the Indian Premier League (IPL).

On Tuesday, at a Caribbean Premier League (CPL) match, Pollard, playing for Trinbago Knight Riders, held a protest against the on-field umpire for his decision by walking away from his position at the non-striker’s end and standing wide of the square.

According to reports, Pollard’s protest was aimed at a delivery from St Lucia Kings’ Wahab Riaz to TKR batsman Tim Seifert that was deemed a legal delivery after it pitched wide outside off stump and Seifert had to stretch full-length as he tried to reach for the ball.

It was after this moment that both Seifert and Pollard looked disappointed as the umpire did not call it a wide and Seifert was even seen engaging animatedly with the umpire.

However, Pollard did not say a word and just kept walking away from the official until he had maintained a large distance and appeared to have readied himself for the next delivery.

Meanwhile, Pollard and Seifert added as many as 78 runs for the fifth wicket as TKR posted 158 for 7 after being put in to bat by St Lucia Kings.

The Knight Riders, who are the defending champions, got their CPL 2021 campaign back on track after a stuttering start with a commanding 27-run win over St Lucia Kings. Two days back, Knight Riders had lost a thrilling chase by five runs against Kings, but there were no slip-ups in this game.
