A fresh criminal complaint has been filed against New York Governor Andrew Cuomo by a former executive assistant, who has previously alleged that she was groped by the governor, according to US media reports.

The content of the formal complaint filed by the former aide has not been made public so far. Moreover, Cuomo has also not been charged with any crimes.

A detailed report released by Attorney General Letitia James, which said that Cuomo had sexually harassed his co-workers on multiple occasions, did not reveal the identity of the woman and tagged her as “Executive Assistant #1”.

The criminal complaint was filed on Thursday against the three-time New York Governor at the Sheriff’s office of Albany County, according to reports from NBC News citing a spokesperson for the law enforcement officials.

The complaint has been filed citing an incident that allegedly happened in November 2020 at the Governor’s mansion in Albany, New York. However, Cuomo has denied the credibility of all claims that were made in the report that was released earlier this week.

Rich Azzopardi, the spokesperson for the member of the Democratic party and New York Governor, released a document that said, “It would be a pure act of insanity for the Governor — who is 63 years old and lives his life under a microscope — to grab an employee’s breast in the middle of the workday at his Mansion Office. This simply did not happen”, according to reports from NBC News.

Even though multiple investigations are already initiated to scrutinise the allegations against Cuomo, the New York Governor does not seem to be backed into a corner in terms of advancing his political career. If not impeached from this position, Cuomo will have the option to run for the 2022 race for the same position.

Earlier this week, US President Joe Biden called on the New York Governor to resign from his position.
