West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has become the first bowler to take 500 T20 wickets when he took the wicket of Rakheem Cornwall of St. Lucia Zouks in a Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2020 match.  The wicket also made Bravo, who plays for the Trinbago Knight Riders, the first to take 100 CPL wickets.

Such is the dominance of Bravo in the shortest format of the game that no other bowler has even crossed 400 wicket mark with Sri Lanka pacer Lasith Malinga coming second with 390 wickets. Bravo is also the fastest to reach each of the 300, 400 and 500-wicket mark.

Bravo has been the most successful bowler for the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League, picking up 118 wickets for and also winning all the three titles with them. CSK took to Twitter to congratulate him on his achievement. CSK tweeted, “A small step for Champion, a giant leap for mankind. #WhistlePodu for the only player to get to 500 T20 wickets. The fact that no one else has even made it to 400 makes it TRULY BRAVO!”

Bravo will be making up for missing the tournament last year when he steps out on the field in the UAE where the IPL is scheduled to start from September 19.
