FedEx says it has fired an employee who posted to social media an expletive-laden video against supporters of the Black Lives Matter movement, US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.”What’s up TikTok. Just wanted to come on here and let all you know if you have a Joe Biden, Kamala [expletive] camel toe [flag] posted up in front of your house — Black Lives Matter [flag] , I will not deliver your [expletive],” Vincent Paterno said in a September 16 clip on the short-video platform.

“I will bring that back to the station and I will keep doing that [expletive]. Have a good day,” he said.

Paterno was wearing a FedEx uniform when delivered the rant from what appeared to be a delivery truck. The clip has been viewed over 80,000 times with many users demanding that FedEx sack Paterno from the job.

FedEx told USA TODAY in an emailed statement that it was “appalled by the behavior depicted in this video”, and had taken action against Paterno. “This individual is no longer providing service on behalf of the company,” the statement said.

In another TikTok video on September 27, Paterno said he had decided to quit the job on his own.

“I didn’t know I could get fired when I didn’t work there anymore,” he said, referring to media reports that claimed he had lost his job over the video. Black Lives Matter (BLM) is an international social movement formed in the United States in 2013 to fighting racism and anti-Black violence. The Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation is active in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. BLM was cofounded in 2013 as an online movement by Patrisse Khan-Cullors, Alicia Garza, and Opal Tometi after George Zimmerman, a man of German and Peruvian descent, was acquitted on charges stemming from his fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin, an unarmed Black teenager, in Sanford, Florida, in February 2012.

According to New York Times, half a million people turned out in nearly 550 places across the United States to participate in Black Lives Matter protests.
