Ganesh Chaturthi this year may feel a little
different with the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. The festival, which is usually
celebrated with great enthusiasm and zest to welcome Lord Ganesha in our homes,
will this year be hushed to follow social distancing norms.

Undoubtedly, one of the most popular Hindu deities
in India, Ganesha is welcomed every year in homes and pandals on Ganesh
Chaturthi that marks his arrival on Earth. The 10-day festival is also famous
for delicious modaks and grand celebrations where people sing and dance with
vigour while welcoming and while bidding goodbye to Bappa, praying to see
him again next year.

While this year, the celebrations might be
limited, one thing you can still enjoy is a full of joy playlist dedicated to Bappa.
The list includes some of the most iconic songs from Bollywood that paid an ode
to Ganesh Chaturthi.

1.
Deva Shree Ganesha

Since the release of the film ‘Agneepath’ in
2012, this song has probably become one of our most favourite Ganpati songs to rejoice
to. The energy of the music certainly matches the vibes of the festival.

2.
Mourya re

Another most popular song you will listen to
throughout Ganesh Chaturthi is ‘Mourya re’ from the film Don, starring Shah
Rukh Khan. Mourya re is also one of the most popular tunes during visarjan of
Lord Ganesha.

3.
Sadda Dil

2013’s film ABCD: Any Body Can Dance brought a
new modern twist to Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations with the song Sadda Dil. The
song is a great blend of traditionalism with modernism.

4.
Bappa

The song ‘Bappa’ from the film ‘Banjo’ starring
Riteish Deshmukh is another song reflecting the vigour of the Ganesh festival. The
music used in the song is a little unconventional compared to the other Ganpati
songs but essence of the celebration is only amplified after you listen to it.

5.
Morya morya

Morya Morya from the Marathi film Dagadi Chaawl is
a song which also reflects the true celebrations of Ganesh Chaturthi.
Especially if you’re someone who loves to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi with
energetic music and enthusiasm, then the song is perfect for you.

6.
Shree Ganeshay Deemahi

A song that will always linger in our hearts is
Shree Ganeshay Deemahi sung by Shankar Mahadevan in the film ‘Viruddh’.
Needless to say, Ganpati celebrations are incomplete without this soulful song.

7.
Shendoor Lal Chadhayo

Finally, to complete our playlist is this composition
from Mahesh Manjrekar’s 1999 film, ‘Vaastav’. Also known as ‘Jaidev Jaidev’, Shendoor
Lal Chadhayo is most popularly heard during Ganesh aarti. It would be right to
say that any Ganesh aarti is incomplete without this song.
