Google on Wednesday, put up a doodle asking people to wear masks and follow all safety measures to stay safe from COVID-19.

Wednesday’s doodle featured animated graphics of colourful masks. Clicking on the doodle leads to a Public Service Announcement saying, “Wear a mask. Save lives. Wear a face cover. Wash your hands. Keep a safe distance.”

Communities around the world are battling the pandemic with the cases increasing at an alarming rate. Healthcare workers have insisted on wearing masks as a safety measure right from the beginning. 

Google has been trying to spread more awareness about the deadly virus through its doodles. A few days back, it had put up a doodle thanking all frontline workers, including doctors, nurses, delivery staff, emergency workers for their services during these difficult times. The doodle featured animated graphics of chefs, teachers, doctors and sanitation workers.

Yesterday,  Google Doodle had honoured Puerto Rican civil rights pioneer and business owner Felicitas Mendez. Mendez, had played a crucial role in the first United States federal court ruling against segregated schools.
