The BSE Sensex surged 1,335.05 points or 2.25% to close
at 60,611.74. Likewise, the NSE Nifty jumped 382.95 points or 2.17% to close at
18,053.40. All the sectoral indices closed in the green with bank,
metal, and power surging from 2% to 3%. BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices rose 1%
each.

trading session:

HDFC Bank: The stock surged 148.10 points or 9.83% to
close at Rs 1,654.10 after the announcement of a merger with Housing
Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) and strong numbers for the quarter as
well as the year ended March 2022. HDFC Ltd shares closed 9.12% higher at Rs
2,676.00.

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone: APSEZ shares
jumped 4.10% to close at Rs 818.00 after its highest-ever cargo and all-time high
handling of containers, coking coal, edible oil, chemicals, crude, POL and
Steel.

SML Isuzu: The stock surged 20% to close at Rs 703.90
after the company decided to hike the prices of its products. SML Isuzu has
announced to increase prices across all models-trucks and buses-in the range of
3-4%, with effect from April 2, 2022. The company is taking steps to absorb the
impact of an increase in commodity prices and other input costs, but the upward
revision has been necessary to partially offset the impact of the higher costs.

Tata Power: The share added 2.63% to close at Rs 251.90
after Tata Power Renewables Energy Ltd (TPREL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of
Tata Power, has commissioned a 300 MW project in Dholera, Gujarat. It is
India’s largest single-axis solar tracker system. The project will generate 774
MUs annually it will help to reduce approximately 704340 MT/year of carbon
emission.

Bank of Maharashtra: The stock price jumped 4.03% to
close at Rs 18.05 after the bank reported a 16.5% YoY rise in total deposits to
Rs 2,02,641 crore in March 2022 against Rs 1,74,006 crore in March 2021. The
gross advances grew 27% YoY at Rs 136,733 crore against Rs 107,654 crore. CASA
ratio came at 57.93% versus 55.05% QoQ & 53.99% YoY.
