Many fans and celebrities, including Rakhi Sawant and Vir Das, have been rooting for Sonu Sood, from calling for a Bharat Ratna for him to asking him to run for Prime Minister.  However, the Bollywood actor has turned down the requests asking him to run for the PM.

On Tuesday, some photographers in Mumbai asked Sonu about the latest social media demands asking him to run for the country’s highest post. The actor respectfully said, while serving cold beverages to the paparazzi assembled outside his home, “Hum aam insaan ache hain bhai, aam insaan better hain (I’m better off being a common man).”

Bhai log khade hain na humare, kya karenge elections mein khade ho ke? Woh apna kaam nahin hai na (Why do I have to fight elections when our brothers are doing that? That is not my work),” added Sonu on the topic of joining politics.

Recently, Bigg Boss 14 finalist Rakhi Sawant had endorsed Sonu Sood as the next Prime Minister of India. Even Vir Das, an actor-comedian, cheered for Sonu on Twitter last week, in reply to a user’s tweet.

Sonu Sood has pulled all stops for COVID-19 patients all over the country, to secure oxygen cylinders and hospital beds for them.

“We are bringing in oxygen plants for the people in need. We have seen a lot of people suffering because of the unavailability of oxygen cylinders. We have got it now, and are already giving it to people. However, these oxygen plants will not only supply to entire hospitals but will also get these oxygen cylinders filled up, which will solve a major problem of the people suffering from COVID-19,” Sonu Sood said in a new statement.
