Kings XI Punjab defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 97 runs on Thursday.

Virat Kohli led-Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and decided to bowl first. 

Put in to bat first, Punjab started off their innings in style with the openers bringing up a fifty run partnership in six overs before Mayank Agarwal was dismissed for 26.

Punjab then lost two wickets cheaply with Ravi Bishnoi and Glenn Maxwell being dismissed in quick succession.

Captain KL Rahul hogged the limelight on Thursday and scored a sumptuous century and remained unbeaten for the night. Rahul ended his innings with 132 runs to his name off 69 balls.

KL Rahul led-Kings XI Punjab posted a mammoth total of 206 runs for RCB to chase down, and the captain KL Rahul led from the front and scoring 132.

Chasing a total of 207, Royal Challengers Bangalore lost their top order cheaply, with captain Kohli and power hitter AB de Villiers’ being dismissed easily.

Royal Challengers lost three wickets with Captain Kohli departing following an ill-timed shot.

Murugan Ashwin and Ravi Bishnoi put up a show for the Punjab franchise dismissing opponents Bangalore with ease, claiming three wickets each. Sheldon Cottrell claimed two wickets on the night.

KL Rahul was adjudged the man of the match for his performance with the bat.
